Ichthyosis is a family of genetic skin disorders characterized by dry, scaling skin that may be thickened or very thin. The prefix “ichthy” is taken from the Greek root for the word fish. Each year, more than 16,000 babies are born with some form of ichthyosis. A study has determined that approximately 300 babies are born each year with a moderate to severe form of ichthyosis. Ichthyosis affects people of all ages, races and gender. The disease usually presents at birth, or within the first year, and continues to affect the patient throughout their lifetime.

There is no cure for ichthyosis, but dedicated researchers and doctors have developed and will continue to develop effective methods to help control the disease. Parents also play an important role in sharing the different treatments they are receiving with other parents of affected children and affected adults.

Ichthyosis treatment

It cannot be cured, but treatment can help you control dry and scaly skin.

Apply cream, lotion or ointment to the skin every day to replenish water. Look for rich cream containing any of the following ingredients: lanolin, α- Hydroxy acid, urea or propylene glycol. Products containing ceramide or cholesterol can also keep skin moist.

After you get out of the shower or bathtub, apply the lotion immediately while your skin is still moist. This will help maintain moisture. Other things you can try:

Bathe in salt water.

Rub your skin with pumice.

Use products containing salicylic acid, glycolic acid or lactic acid to remove dead skin.

If dryness and scaling are severe, your doctor may prescribe an oral vitamin a drug, such as acitretin or isotretinoin (absorica, claravis, sotret, etc.). Visual pigments can cause side effects, such as weakened bones, dry mouth and stomach discomfort.

3 steps to away from ichthyosis

Step 1:Remove scales.

Step 2: Dredge sweat glands, hair flile glands, sebaceous glands.

Step 3: Let the repair factor in Qingliyasi skincare products penetrate into the basal layer of skin through the glands, improve the growth environment of skin cells, and restore the skin cell metabolic cycle from 4–7 days to the normal 28 days.

Ichthyosis is not life-threatening, but it can change life.

45 years ago, Zhang Jian was an oncologist. Later she decided to study the treatment of ichthyosis on her own because her daughter suffered from ichthyosis and had not been effectively treated.

She collected the related materials everywhere, and finally she was inspired by the theory of “massage and bath” in the book called The Inner Canon of Huangdi. After decades of unremitting study and improvement, she has developed the “Zhang Jian Therapy” based on herbal fumigation and skin care with traditional Chinese medicines, and finally she had cured her daughter’s ichthyosis. At present, her daughter is 62 years old, and her skin is quite good. Ichthyosis never recurred to her; and ichthyosis has never inherited to her descendants.
